This year 10 boats braved the 10-15 knot winds and bright sunshine to travel to Rock Creek to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! Due to the wind forecast for the overnight, we decided to set the rafts further up the creek where it would be better protected.
The crews of Adventure Bound, Champagne, Contigo, Imagine, Mosella, Narsilion, Off the Charts,
Silent Running, Valkyrie, and Windsprint gathered in the spacious cockpit of Valkyrie to start the party at 1600 hours. Everyone brought their favorite Mexican dish or drink to share. Everyone enjoyed the party, especially
Henry from Silent Running, who was expolring Valkyrie and Imagine. We think he wants a 49 now....
The larger rafts broke up for the night. The winds never increased over night. Those of us that left early in the morning were disapointed to find little or no wind for the sail back to our home ports. Those that waited to leave closer to noon were rewarded with a great sail back.
I would like to thank Sig & Patricia Jensen for allowing everyone to gather on their boat for the party.
